[ THE WORKFLOW ]
Most medico-legal practices run this by email and spreadsheets. The portal replaces that with structured intake, a code per case, a visible tracker and a full audit trail.
A multi-step enquiry form for the instructing solicitor: case type, complexity, assessment mode and location, with a unique case code on submit.
Experts manage availability by clinic location and by remote or in-person. Rate cards per appointment type. Lawyers pick a preferred expert or let the system propose available ones.
A visible stage tracker both sides can see, from report required through to invoice issued, updated by the expert as the case moves.
Encrypted case notes referenced by case code, with role-based access. Sensitive medical data handled to GDPR from the start.
Append-only logging of every action, user and timestamp, with retention policy and UK or EU data residency.
The expert is notified on a new instruction, the lawyer on acceptance or amendment. No chasing by email.
[ TIERS ]
You own the code and infrastructure at every tier. No per-seat fees.
Subscription-code access, role-based portals, multi-step enquiry, case codes, stage tracker, encrypted documents, audit trail, GDPR retention, notifications. About three weeks.
Everything in Essentials, plus the expert diary by location and mode, rate cards, expert matching, and the accept-and-estimate flow. About five weeks.
Everything in Plus Booking, plus inbound document email parsing by case code, invoicing, one external integration and custom reporting. About six to seven weeks.
[ FAQ ]
Software that runs the two-sided workflow between law firms and medical experts: a firm instructs an expert for a report, documents move securely, and the case is tracked from instruction to invoice. Our version is a secure portal a practice owns, rather than a generic case tool bent to fit.
Three tiers: Essentials at $17,000 (access, intake, tracker, documents, audit, GDPR), Plus Booking at $26,000 (adds the expert diary, rate cards and matching), and Complete at $35,000 (adds inbound email, invoicing and integrations). Discovery is free and you own the software.
Roughly three to six weeks depending on tier. The platform already exists and has run in production, so most of the work is adapting it to your practice rather than building from scratch.
Encryption, role-based access and an append-only audit trail are built in, with UK and EU data residency. The engine was originally built to HIPAA, so the same rigour applies to special-category medical data under GDPR.
Yes, in the Plus Booking tier. Experts manage their own availability by clinic location and by remote or in-person, with rate cards per appointment type, and lawyers see live availability when selecting an expert.
